Pagaruyung Palace (Istano Basa) is a traditional Minangkabau royal palace complex in West Sumatra, Indonesia. It represents the architectural and cultural center of the historic Pagaruyung kingdom.
The standout feature is the large traditional house form with multiple upward-curving gabled roofs and hornlike ridge ends, a characteristic of Minangkabau architecture. The reconstructed complex presents displays about the Pagaruyung kingdom, Minangkabau customs and local crafts, and is commonly visited for cultural photography and guided visits. The site functions as both a museum and a cultural performance venue.
The palace marks the historic seat of the Pagaruyung kingdom, an important Minangkabau polity.
