How to Get to Ordino#
Ordino is in northern Andorra and is best reached via coach from Barcelona or Toulouse, or via short transfers from La Seu d’Urgell. There is no direct international rail service into Andorra; buses from Barcelona or Toulouse are the most practical option.
Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN): BCN is the most commonly used airport for travel to Andorra. Regular coach services run from Barcelona (both the airport and Barcelona Nord/Sants stations) to Andorra la Vella; journey time is about 3-3.5 hours and tickets typically range from around €10-€25 depending on operator and booking time (ALSA is the main operator).
Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) / La Seu d’Urgell (LEU): TLS offers another route with coach connections to Andorra (roughly 2.5-3.5 hours by road). La Seu d’Urgell (LEU) is the closest airport by distance but has very limited scheduled commercial flights; from LEU ground transfers to Andorra are short (approx. 30-45 minutes).
Train: There is no direct rail service into Andorra; the nearest train stations are in Puigcerdà (Spain) or L’Hospitalet-près-l’Andorre (France). From those stations travelers continue by bus or taxi into Andorra.
Bus: ALSA and other coach companies operate regular services from Barcelona, Girona and Toulouse to Andorra la Vella. Once in Andorra la Vella you can take local Andorra bus services to Ordino (about 20-30 minutes). Local bus fares inside Andorra are low-single rides are inexpensive (around €1.70-€3).
How to Get Around Ordino#
Ordino is most easily accessed by international coach from Barcelona or Toulouse, then a short local bus or taxi into the parish. Within Andorra the bus network is efficient and cheap; hire a car only if you need extra flexibility for mountain roads.
- International coach (ALSA and others) (€10-€30) - Coaches from Barcelona (airport or city terminals) and Toulouse arrive in Andorra la Vella; journeys take roughly 3-4 hours from Barcelona and around 3 hours from Toulouse. Book in advance for better fares and seat availability, especially in winter.
- Local Andorra buses (€1.70-€3) - Andorra has a frequent local bus network linking Andorra la Vella with Ordino and other parishes. The ride to Ordino is short (about 20-30 minutes) and very affordable-tickets are sold at stops and kiosks.
- Taxi (€20-€60) - Taxis cover the whole country and are useful for early-morning or late-night transfers when coaches are not running. Fares are higher than buses but convenient for door-to-door travel-agree the fare ahead or ensure the meter is used.
- Car hire (€30-€70/day) - Hiring a car in Catalonia or southern France gives flexibility to visit Ordino and surrounding mountain roads; winter driving may require chains or winter equipment. Parking in Ordino and other towns is generally available but check local signs.
- Walking - Ordino’s centre is compact and pleasant to explore on foot; many trails start from the town for hiking and nature walks. Use walking to explore the historic centre and nearby viewpoints.
