Obudu Mountain Resort is a hill-station and tourism complex on the Obudu Plateau in Cross River State, southeastern Nigeria, situated at roughly 1,575 metres above sea level. It is one of Nigeria’s best-known mountain resorts and is valued for its cooler climate and scenic views.
The area began to be developed in the mid-20th century from pastoral and ranching uses into a formal tourist destination under later state-supported development. Infrastructure improvements over time have included hospitality buildings, access roads and the cable car to encourage visitor stays.
Positioned on the Obudu Plateau in Cross River State near Nigeria’s southeastern border region, the resort lies inland from the Nigerian coast and is reached by road from regional towns in Cross River State.
