How to Get to Nguékhokh
Nguékhokh (Thiès region) is reached via Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS) with a road transfer to the Thiès/Mbour area and onward local transport. Shared taxis and regional buses are the main public options for the last leg into town.
Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS): The main international airport serving Dakar and western Senegal; travellers to Nguékhokh usually fly into DSS then continue by road. From the airport the drive to Nguékhokh (in the Thiès region, south of Mbour) typically takes around 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic.
Cap Skirring / regional airports: Smaller regional airports exist but are not practical for routine access to Nguékhokh; most visitors use DSS for international connections.
Train: Senegal’s passenger rail services are limited and do not provide a regular commuter service to Nguékhokh from Dakar; rail is not a primary option for this route.
Bus / Sotrac / car rapide / shared taxi: From Dakar or Mbour you can take a bus, shared taxi or car-rapide to Mbour and then local transport on to Nguékhokh. The drive from Dakar or DSS is typically about 1-1.5 hours by car; fares for shared taxis and buses are inexpensive (a few hundred to a few thousand XOF depending on distance).
