How to Get to Diamniadio
Diamniadio is a new transport hub served by the TER rail link and is very accessible from Dakar and the Blaise Diagne airport. The TER is usually the fastest and most reliable public connection; road options include shared minibuses and taxis.
Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS): The new Dakar airport (Aéroport International Blaise Diagne) is the main international gateway. DSS is about 30-40 minutes by road from Diamniadio by car depending on traffic; the TER train also links the airport to Diamniadio (see below).
Dakar-Yoff (historic) / small airfields: Most international flights use DSS; domestic flights are limited and not generally used for reaching Diamniadio.
Train (TER Dakar): The Train Express Régional (TER) connects Dakar, Diamniadio and Blaise Diagne Airport. TER services take roughly 20-30 minutes between central Dakar and Diamniadio; fares are affordable (low single-euro-equivalent prices) and trains are the fastest public option.
Bus / car rapide / taxi: Car rapides (shared yellow minibuses), buses and taxis run between Dakar and Diamniadio; road journeys can be longer in traffic (30-60+ minutes) and fares vary-shared minibuses are cheapest while taxis are quicker and more expensive.
