Ngonye Falls is a waterfall on the Zambezi River in Zambia’s Western Province, producing a broad cataract where the river drops over hard rock and through a channel of cliffs and rapids. The falls form part of the middle‑Zambezi landscape and are a local scenic attraction.
Visitors come to view the falls, nearby rapids and rock formations and to take short walks along the riverbank; water levels vary seasonally with the Zambezi’s flow. The site is less developed than major regional waterfalls and is valued for its natural setting and wildlife along the river.
The falls lie on the Zambezi in a remote section of Western Province near the town of Sioma and the regional Sioma area, set within a mixture of riverine woodland and floodplain that characterises this stretch of the river. Access is by road from regional centres and by river transport in the wet season.
