Lake Placid is reachable by short flights to SLK (limited), or more commonly via Burlington or Albany plus a drive. The Amtrak Adirondack line and Adirondack Trailways coaches provide rail and bus options with onward road transfers to Lake Placid.

By Air

Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) - Saranac Lake / Lake Placid area: SLK is the closest airport, with limited scheduled service (seasonal and small aircraft). Ground transfer to Lake Placid is about 20-30 minutes; taxis and rental cars are available.
