National Auditorium

The National Auditorium (Auditorio Nacional de Música) is Madrid’s principal concert venue for classical music, located on the Paseo de la Castellana in the capital.

The complex contains multiple performance halls used for symphonic concerts, chamber music and recitals; it hosts the Spanish National Orchestra and national-level classical programming. Its two principal halls serve different types of performances, from full orchestra to intimate recitals.

Opened in the late 20th century as a purpose-built national music auditorium, it was established to centralise major classical music institutions and provide modern facilities for orchestras and ensembles.

The auditorium stands on Paseo de la Castellana in northern-central Madrid, near major transport links and cultural institutions along the city’s main north-south thoroughfare.
