Mount Naeba (Naeba-san, 苗場山) is a mountain in Niigata Prefecture on the border with Nagano, with a summit elevation of about 2,145 metres.
As a natural landmark the mountain has no constructed history; the lower slopes were developed in the 20th century for ski tourism and access roads and lifts followed to serve the resort zone.
The mountain lies in the Echigo range of central Honshu, near the town of Yuzawa in Niigata Prefecture and on the Niigata-Nagano prefectural border, roughly two hundred kilometres north-northwest of Tokyo by road or rail.

How to Get to Naeba-san #
Naeba and the Naeba Ski Resort are reached from Echigo-Yuzawa (JR Joetsu Shinkansen stop). From Echigo-Yuzawa, local buses and shuttle services run to Naeba (roughly 40-60 minutes). By car, follow National Route 17 and local mountain roads; winter chains or snow tires are required in snowy months.
