Museum of the Royal Tombs in Aigai

Major excavations at Aigai were led by archaeologist Manolis Andronikos beginning in 1977, when a set of intact and partially intact royal tombs were uncovered. Finds from those excavations were conserved and placed on display in a museum created to protect and interpret the discoveries for scholarship and the public.

The museum is located at Vergina in Central Macedonia, Greece, immediately adjacent to the archaeological site of ancient Aigai. The site lies in the rural plains west of Thessaloniki and is accessible from nearby regional towns.
