By subway take the E or M trains to 5th Avenue/53rd Street station - the museum is about a one-block walk from that station; several other lines (B/D/F/M to 47-50th Street/Rockefeller Center, or N/Q/R/W to 57th Street-Seventh Avenue) are also within a short walking distance.

If arriving by bus or on foot from nearby Midtown locations, follow street signage to West 53rd Street; the museum entrance faces 53rd Street and has short street-level access from the sidewalks.

• Buy a timed-entry ticket online in advance to skip the long ticket lines; plan to arrive right at opening if you want fewer crowds around the most famous works (Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso).
