Musa Dagh

Musa Dagh is a mountain massif in Hatay Province in southern Turkey that became internationally known for the 1915 resistance of local Armenian villages. The site combines natural high ground with small settlements and memorial features tied to that historical episode.

Hiking routes lead to viewpoints over the eastern Mediterranean and to small villages on the slopes, including the Armenian village of Vakıflı, where visitors can see village churches and traditional agriculture. In 1915 several Armenian villages on Musa Dagh mounted a prolonged defense against forced deportation and were subsequently evacuated by Allied naval forces; this episode is the defining historical event associated with the mountain.
