Best Time to Visit Mtwara #

The best time to visit Mtwara is during the drier, cooler months from May to September for beaches, boating and easy road travel. Avoid November-April if you dislike heavy tropical rains and high humidity, though the countryside is very green then.

Cool Season
May - September · 20-28°C (68-82°F)
Drier, breezy months perfect for beaches, boat trips and exploring cashew farms; evenings are pleasant and mosquitoes are noticeably fewer.
Hot Season
October - February · 24-33°C (75-91°F)
Hot, humid build-up before the rains; mornings suit fishing trips and sunrises, but afternoons grow sticky - carry water, shade, and expect late-evening cloudbursts sometimes.
Rainy Season
November - April · 22-30°C (72-86°F)
Heavy tropical downpours (especially March-April) make travel sluggish; beaches and dirt roads can be muddy, but the landscape is lush and fewer tourists mean quieter stays.
