Mtatsminda

Mtatsminda is a prominent hill immediately overlooking central Tbilisi, Georgia, known for recreational facilities, a writers’ and public figures’ pantheon, and city viewpoints. The summit area accommodates leisure attractions and is a major vantage point over the capital.

Visitors use the funicular railway, road access and walking paths to reach the parkland, pantheon and viewpoints on the upper slopes. The site combines cultural memorials with public leisure spaces including rides and panoramic terraces.

Historically the slopes have been used for cemeteries and memorials to prominent Georgians; more recent developments added recreational infrastructure and communications installations. The site remains closely integrated with the urban fabric of Tbilisi.

Geographically Mtatsminda forms the western skyline of Tbilisi and sits directly above the old city, making it immediately accessible from central urban areas.
