Mount Yong Belar is a mountain on the Perak-Kelantan border in Peninsular Malaysia, rising to about 2,181 metres and forming part of the Titiwangsa Range.

A remote highland that attracts hillwalkers and peak-baggers, the ascent is typically a multi-day trek across steep forested ridges and rocky sections. The summit area offers broad ridge views but no visitor facilities; routes require navigation and basic scrambling in places.

The peak is a natural feature of the Titiwangsa chain; it is not associated with major historic constructions and has been used primarily for hunting and local upland activities rather than settlement. Modern interest is recreational and scientific rather than historic.

The mountain sits on the central spine of Peninsular Malaysia, straddling Kelantan and Perak provinces. Nearest local towns include Gua Musang on the Kelantan side and settlements in inland Perak; access is from forest tracks and trailheads in the surrounding highlands.

The nearest major towns are Gua Musang and Kuala Lipis; local 4WD transport and guides are commonly used to reach remote trailheads. • Hire a local guide - trails cross borderland ridges and can be poorly marked in parts of the royal forest reserve.
• Start pre-dawn for summit attempts to avoid midday cloud and afternoon rain which are common in the tropics.
• Prepare for heat, leeches and muddy trails; gaiters and long trousers are useful in the wet season.
