Mount Maxwell Provincial Park is a small provincial park on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia that protects the summit and upper slopes of Mount Maxwell. The park is best known for its panoramic viewpoints over the Gulf Islands and the Strait of Georgia.
A short walk from the parking area leads to cliff-top viewpoints that provide broad sea and island vistas, making the site popular for day visits, picnics and sunset viewing. Trails are mostly short but can be steep in places.
The area was set aside to protect the natural summit environment and to provide public access to the lookout points on Salt Spring Island.
The park sits near the central part of Salt Spring Island, a short drive from the island’s main settlements and ferry terminals that link to mainland British Columbia and other Gulf Islands.

How to Get to Mount Maxwell Provincial Park #
Mount Maxwell is on Salt Spring Island. From the BC Ferries terminal at Fulford Harbour drive to Ganges then follow local signs to Mount Maxwell/Fulford and park at the marked lot. Alternate ferry routes include Crofton-Salt Spring (Vesuvius Bay).
