Mount Ida, known in Turkish as Kaz Dağı, is a forested massif in Balıkesir Province in northwest Turkey. The mountain is strongly associated with ancient Greek mythology and the nearby archaeological landscape of Troy.

The area offers forested slopes, springs and viewpoints over the Aegean coastal plain, with trails used for hiking and nature observation. Its flora includes a number of local and endemic species, and the massif has been valued for both its natural and cultural associations.

Mount Ida appears frequently in classical sources and mythology, most famously in stories connected with the Trojan War and Homer’s Iliad. Over centuries the mountain remained a cultural landmark and a source of local traditions and place names.

Geographically the mountain rises above the Edremit Gulf region in western Anatolia, inland from the Aegean coast and near the ancient site of Troy.
