How to Get to Assos
Assos is about 80 km south of Çanakkale and roughly 1.5-2 hours by road from the Dardanelles region. From Ayvacık or Behramkale follow local roads downhill to the coast; the village is signposted from major routes.
Tips for Visiting Assos
- Walk down to the pebble beach and then climb the little path to the ruined acropolis for the best light at sunset.
- In summer, arrive before noon to avoid the sheer-wall heat of the narrow harbourside streets.
- Nearby Bademli village and Behramkale have small cafés with excellent seafood and local hospitality.
