Mount Eniwa is a stratovolcano on the island of Hokkaido in northern Japan, set on the southern shore of Lake Shikotsu. It forms part of the volcanic landscape of Shikotsu-Toya National Park.
The mountain offers hiking routes that provide close views over Lake Shikotsu and surrounding caldera scenery. Its volcanic slopes and ridges are popular with day hikers and with visitors to the national park.
Eniwa is one of several volcanic cones associated with the Shikotsu caldera system; it is part of the region’s volcanic history and ongoing geological interest rather than a site of long-term human settlement at elevation.
Situated on Hokkaido’s inland coast near the municipality of Chitose and within the national park, the mountain lies within the lake-filled caldera landscape south of Sapporo.
