Mount Disappointment (Australia) Mountain

Mount Disappointment is a forested summit in the state of Victoria, Australia, within the Great Dividing Range. The name dates to 1824 when early European explorers found their expected panoramic view blocked by dense forest.

Trails and informal walking routes run through the surrounding state forest and visitors go there for short walks, birdwatching and viewing platforms rather than alpine climbing. The area is managed for both conservation and forestry, with limited visitor infrastructure.

The ridge was named during early colonial exploration and has since been used for regional forestry, fire management and recreation. Over time sections have been set aside for public access while other areas remain working forest.
