Mount Cholomon

Mount Cholomon (Cholomontas) is a forested mountain massif in Central Macedonia in northern Greece. It provides a wooded highland zone between the Thessaloniki area and the Chalkidiki peninsula.

Outdoor visitors use the area for hiking, nature walks and local recreation; the slopes support forestry and seasonal mountain landscapes rather than alpine conditions. Scattered villages and rural roads provide access to trailheads and viewpoints.

The massif has long formed part of the regional landscape of Central Macedonia and has been used for pastoralism, forestry and local agriculture. It does not have a single famous historical event widely associated with it but has local historical and cultural importance.

Located in Central Macedonia, the mountain range sits inland from the northern shores of the Aegean and forms part of the upland transition toward the Chalkidiki peninsula.
