Mount Bachelor is a 2,763-metre volcanic peak in the Cascade Range of central Oregon, United States. It is widely used for alpine recreation and hosts a large ski area on its flanks.
The mountain’s developed ski area provides lift access to extensive winter skiing and snowboarding terrain, while summer visitors use forest roads and trails for hiking and mountain biking. From high slopes and the summit area there are panoramic views of nearby Cascade peaks on clear days.
Formed by volcanic activity in the Cascade arc, the peak and surrounding lava fields represent relatively recent volcanic construction in geological terms. Recreational development on the mountain expanded in the 20th century with establishment of the ski area.
Located in central Oregon, the mountain sits east of the Cascade crest near the city of Bend and is part of the region’s alpine and volcanic landscape.

How to Get to Mount Bachelor #
Mount Bachelor is about 22 miles (35 km) west of Bend, Oregon. Drive west on US‑20/US‑126 to the Sunriver/Bachelor area; the resort is signed from Highway 97 via Century Drive and Brookswood Blvd. Regional transit and shuttle services run from Bend during the ski season.
