Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park

Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park sits at the Zambian gateway to one of the planet’s great spectacles: Victoria Falls. The park’s name - ‘the smoke that thunders’ - is the local Tonga rendering, and it is apposite: the mist from the falls is a weather system of its own, and on the Zambian side the spray and roar define the landscape.

The park does more than frame the falls. It protects savannah corridors where elephants, buffalo and various antelope species roam, and its trails allow walking safaris that feel immediate in a way that vehicle-based game drives cannot replicate.
