A 3,096-metre peak in the Chablais Alps of Haute-Savoie, France, prominent in local mountain walking and offering wide views across the Mont Blanc massif and surrounding valleys.
The mountain is popular with hikers and mountaineers for non-glacial summer ascents; routes approach from surrounding valleys and alpine pastures and lead to an exposed summit ridge. On clear days the summit affords extensive panoramas including the Mont Blanc range.
Long used by local shepherds and alpine communities, the mountain became a regular objective for recreational alpinism and hillwalking in the 19th and 20th centuries as alpine tourism developed in the region.
Located in the French Alps within Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the peak sits on the southern side of the Chablais subrange and is accessible from valley towns and mountain hamlets in Haute-Savoie.
