Mezhyhirya Residence is a large private estate near Novi Petrivtsi, north of Kyiv, that served as the presidential residence until 2014. The property is notable for its extensive grounds and lavish private facilities covering roughly 137 hectares.
The main residence buildings, extensive parkland with formal gardens and water features, a riverfront area with boathouses and displays of luxury items that were left on the site. The grounds became a public exhibition after the former occupant fled in 2014 and are presented as a museum of the estate’s former use.
The estate was developed and expanded over decades and was used as the official residence and private retreat by the president prior to 2014; after the Revolution it was taken into public ownership and converted into a site for public tours and exhibitions. The change in status in 2014 transformed it from a private compound to an open museum-like complex.
Mezhyhirya lies on the right bank of a Dnieper tributary near the village of Novi Petrivtsi, approximately 20 to 25 kilometres north of central Kyiv, set in a mix of riverside parkland and woodland.

How to Get to Mezhyhirya Residence #
Mezhyhirya is about 20-25 km north of Kyiv. From Kyiv, take highway E95/ M05 toward Vyshhorod and follow signs to Novi Petrivtsi; parking is available on site. Some tour operators run day trips from Kyiv.
