How to Get to Menglun Town
Menglun (Xishuangbanna) is best reached by flying into Jinghong (JHG) and continuing by road. Road transfers and local buses connect the airport and Jinghong with Menglun; there is no direct passenger rail to the town.
Xishuangbanna Gasa Airport (JHG, Jinghong): The nearest regional airport to Menglun (part of Menglun Town, Menghai County). From Jinghong airport you can reach Menglun by road in about 45-75 minutes depending on traffic; taxis and airport transfer vans are common.
Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG): The major international gateway for Yunnan. From Kunming you typically fly to Jinghong (JHG) and then continue by road to Menglun; direct road travel from Kunming to Menglun is long (several hours).
Train: There is currently no direct national rail service to Jinghong/Menglun - the nearest high‑speed rail head is in Kunming; onward travel from Kunming is by air or long‑distance coach.
