How to Get to Meghri
Meghri is at Armenia's southern tip and is best reached overland from Yerevan (Zvartnots EVN) by bus or private car. There are no regular scheduled commercial flights into Meghri, and rail is not a practical option for the route.
Zvartnots / Yerevan (EVN): The main international airport for southern Armenia. From Yerevan it’s a long overland journey to Meghri (roughly 5-6 hours by car or minibus) - there are no regular commercial flights directly to Meghri.
Shirak / Gyumri (LWN) and regional airfields: These are not practical for reaching Meghri; overland travel from Yerevan is the standard approach for international visitors.
Train: There is no direct Armenian national rail connection into Meghri for regular passenger services; rail is not a practical option for the Yerevan-Meghri route.
Bus / Marshrutka: Long‑distance minibuses (marshrutkas) and buses run from Yerevan (central and southern bus stations) toward Goris and Kapan, with onward services to Meghri. Travel time from Yerevan is long (around 5-7 hours depending on stops and road conditions) and roads are mountainous; fares are inexpensive but schedules can vary.
How to Get Around Meghri #
Meghri is a small border town where most places are reachable on foot. Marshrutkas and minibuses link Meghri with Kapan and other towns in Syunik; taxis are available locally but services are limited compared with larger cities. If you plan cross-border travel or day trips, verify schedules in advance and allow extra time - terrain and services can affect connections.
