The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was the monumental tomb of Mausolus in ancient Halicarnassus (modern Bodrum) and counted among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Erected in the mid-4th century BCE for the ruler Mausolus and his sister-wife Artemisia, the monument was notable for its architects and sculptors from across the Greek world. It survived into the medieval period before being largely dismantled.
The tomb stood at ancient Halicarnassus on the Aegean coast; the archaeological site and the modern Turkish town of Bodrum occupy the same coastal area in Muğla Province.
