How to Get to Martvili#
Martvili is usually reached by road from Kutaisi or Zugdidi; marshrutkas and local taxis are the standard local links. Expect simple, affordable but variable services rather than frequent fixed-timetable public transport.
Kutaisi International Airport (KUT): The closest major airport serving western Georgia. From Kutaisi you can take a marshrutka (minibus) or taxi toward Zugdidi and drop off near Martvili; travel time is typically 1.5-2 hours. Tbilisi International Airport (TBS): Tbilisi is farther away (several hours’ drive) and generally used if you plan to combine Martvili with other parts of Georgia. From Tbilisi you can take a long-distance marshrutka or train to Zugdidi and then a local connection to Martvili.
