Manotick is a historic village on the Rideau River in what is now the city of Ottawa, Ontario, established as a 19th-century mill settlement. The village grew around a mill and retains a compact riverside character.
The main attractions are the preserved mill and the riverside commercial strip. The Watson’s Mill complex interprets local milling history and hosts exhibits; the riverfront offers walking paths, picnic spots and places to launch small boats and kayaks. Manotick also has annual community events such as a seasonal fair and local markets.
The settlement formed around milling and river transport in the mid-1800s and evolved into a residential and recreational community. It was incorporated into the amalgamated City of Ottawa in 2001.
Manotick sits in the Rideau River valley roughly 25 kilometres south of downtown Ottawa, Ontario, with main access via local roads connecting to Highway 416 and regional routes.
