Manasbal Lake is a freshwater lake in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, located north of Srinagar in the Ganderbal district. It is noted locally for clear water, aquatic vegetation and birdlife.
The lake shoreline attracts visitors for birdwatching and for views of surrounding hills; small local settlements and shrines lie near the lake. The lake has been used historically for local fishing and seasonal activities.

How to Get to Manasbal Lake #
Manasbal Lake is in the Ganderbal area north of Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir. It is reached by road from Srinagar (shared taxis and local buses operate to Ganderbal and nearby villages); from Srinagar the drive to Manasbal is roughly an hour depending on traffic. There is roadside parking and short walks from the village roads down to the lake shore.

- Visit at sunrise when the water is calm and the lake's mirror reflections and bird activity are at their best; mornings are also much quieter than midday.
- Arrive early to secure a lakeside spot and use the short walking path along the shore to reach the best viewing points-the more photogenic sections are concentrated rather than spread out.
- Head to the shallower ends where the lotus beds and water plants concentrate-these areas offer better birdwatching and detail photography that many drive-by visitors miss.
