How to Get to Madalena, Azores

Madalena (Pico) is reached either by flying directly to Pico Airport (PIX) or flying to Faial (HOR) and taking the fast ferry to Madalena. Ferries between Horta and Madalena are the most frequent inter-island link and are the usual route for arrivals from Faial.

By Air

Pico Airport (PIX): The on‑island airport for Pico. Flights from Ponta Delgada (PDL) or other Azorean islands land at PIX; from the airport it’s a short taxi ride (typically 10-15 minutes) into Madalena.

Horta Airport (HOR) - Faial: Many visitors fly into Faial (Horta) and take the ferry to Madalena on Pico. Horta-Madalena ferry crossings are frequent and quick (around 20-30 minutes).

Train: There is no rail network on the Azores.
