Airports in North Macedonia

North Macedonia has 2 airports with scheduled flights.

North Macedonia’s main air gateway is Skopje International Airport (SKP), the country’s one major airport handling high volumes of traffic. For most international travelers, SKP is the primary arrival point for starting a first trip focused on Skopje and nearby Matka Canyon, and then continuing south to Bitola and west to Ohrid.

Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport (OHD) is the other airport with scheduled commercial service, and it matters most for direct access to Lake Ohrid and the lakeside old town of Ohrid, as well as places around the lake such as Struga and the Monastery of Saint Naum. The country has two domestic airports in total, but with a small number of airfields, domestic flying plays a limited role compared with getting around overland for short drives and multi-stop itineraries linking Skopje, Bitola, and Ohrid.
