How to Get to Long Hai
Long Hai is a coastal town in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province popular for beaches and resorts. Most international travellers arrive at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat Airport (SGN) and continue by intercity bus, private shuttle or taxi to Long Hai.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN): The nearest major international airport is Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City (SGN). From SGN you can reach Long Hai by intercity bus or private transfer: express buses/minivans to Vung Tau or Long Hai run from several operators (see Phuong Trang/Futa or private shuttle services); expect around 2-3 hours and fares roughly 100,000-200,000 VND per person depending on the service.
Nearest regional airports (for domestic connections): Cam Ranh (Nha Trang) and Can Tho are regional airports but not practical for direct travel to Long Hai; most travellers fly into SGN and continue by road.
Train: There is no direct national rail station in Long Hai; the nearest major railway hubs are in Bien Hoa or Vung Tau region (Vung Tau itself is not on the main North-South line). Trains are not the practical option for most trips to Long Hai.
Bus: Interprovincial buses and private shuttle vans from Ho Chi Minh City (Mien Dong bus station and various hotels/terminals) run to Vung Tau and Long Hai. Futa Bus (Phuong Trang) and private vans operate the route; fares from HCMC to Vung Tau typically cost 100,000-200,000 VND and take about 2-3 hours, then a short local taxi or bus (15-40 minutes) reaches Long Hai.
How to Get Around Long Hai #
Long Hải is a compact beach town best navigated on foot, by rented scooter or using motorbike taxis (xe ôm) for short hops. There are also local buses and taxis to nearby Vũng Tàu; renting a scooter for the day is common and convenient.
