Ho Tram Beach is a long sandy shoreline on Vietnam’s southeast coast in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, known for resort development and wide beachfronts. The area has seen extensive investment in hotels and leisure facilities in the 21st century, turning it into a major coastal leisure destination.

Beaches are used for sunbathing, swimming and resort-based activities, and the nearby coastal landscape includes dunes and coastal forest. The beach is also a staging point for visitors combining beach stays with nearby natural attractions such as hot springs and lowland rainforest.

Historically a fishing and coastal community, the Ho Tram area has transformed since the early 2000s into a resort corridor with international hotels and entertainment complexes. Development has focused on beachfront tourism and associated infrastructure.

Ho Tram lies on Vietnam’s southeastern coast in Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, roughly 120-140 km southeast of Ho Chi Minh City by road and within easy driving distance for weekend trips.

  • Best time to visit: Dry season from November to April is best for sun and calm sea conditions; monsoon months can bring heavier rain and rough seas.
  • Travel time: About a 2-3 hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City depending on traffic, making it a common weekend beach destination for city residents.

What to See #

  • Ho Tram Strip: A large integrated resort and entertainment complex featuring hotels, casinos, restaurants and beachfront facilities that shaped recent development of the area.
  • Binh Chau area: Natural coastal area and adjacent lowland rainforest, with nearby hot springs and a protected reserve offering wildlife and nature excursions.
