London Zoo in Regent’s Park is a major zoological collection managed by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and one of the earliest scientific zoos, founded in 1828.
Established as a scientific collection in the early 19th century, the zoo opened to the public later in the century and has evolved through conservation-focused modernisation of its enclosures and programmes. Over its long history it has hosted important zoological research and captive-breeding efforts.
Located on the northern side of Regent’s Park in central London, the zoo is accessible by several London Underground stations and by surface transport across the city.

How to Get to London Zoo #
ZSL London Zoo is on the northern edge of Regent’s Park. Take the London Underground to Camden Town (Northern Line) or Baker Street (Bakerloo, Jubilee, Circle, Hammersmith & City lines) and walk through Regent’s Park; several bus routes serve outer Regent’s Park stops. The nearest Overground/rail options include Camden Road.
