Lion’s Head is a small lakeside community on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, situated on the eastern shore of Georgian Bay. The settlement is known locally for a prominent limestone escarpment and a vantage point above the bay.

Trailheads and short hikes lead to a cliff-edge lookout that offers views over Georgian Bay and the surrounding stretches of the Niagara Escarpment; the terrain attracts day hikers and photographers. The village also provides harbour and shoreline access used by recreational boaters and anglers.

The place developed as a small lakeshore settlement with a local economy historically tied to fishing and later tourism; it now functions largely as a service and recreation centre for visitors to the peninsula. Local facilities are oriented toward outdoor activities rather than large tourist attractions.

Lion’s Head sits on the eastern side of the Bruce Peninsula, along the shore of Georgian Bay, between Tobermory to the north and Owen Sound to the south. The setting is characterized by limestone cliffs, mixed forest and shoreline.

  • Scenic viewpoint: Lookouts and short hiking routes on the escarpment provide panoramic views over Georgian Bay, popular at sunrise and sunset.
  • Access: Served by the main north-south route on the Bruce Peninsula, the community is a common stop between larger centres on the peninsula.
