Leimert Park lies about 7 miles south of Downtown Los Angeles. From Downtown, take the Metro E (Expo) Line to Expo/Vermont and transfer via a short Lyft/Uber (15-25 minutes) or take the Metro bus 40/210 toward Leimert; parking is available on Degnan Boulevard and side streets but fills on weekend afternoons. From LAX, it’s a 20-30 minute drive east on I-105 and I-110 depending on traffic.

• Go on a Sunday afternoon to catch drum circles and impromptu jazz on Degnan Boulevard - the crowd thins after 4:30pm.
• Enter the core at Leimert Plaza from Degnan Boulevard rather than from the parking lot; the side streets reveal murals, record shops, and the Vision Theatre façade.
• Visit the Leimert Park Village Bookstore and the World Stage for event calendars; many performances are free or donation-based.
