Lebanon’s main aviation gateway is Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY), and it is where most international travelers arrive. It is the country’s primary gateway and the only airport in Lebanon with scheduled commercial service, including the only international airport and the only major airport handling high volumes of traffic.
With no other airports in Lebanon offering scheduled commercial service, there are no secondary city, island, or regional-hub airports to split traffic with BEY. Domestic flying plays a limited role compared with overland travel between places such as Beirut, Tripoli, Byblos, Baalbek, and Tyre, as well as areas like the Bekaa Valley and Northern Lebanon.
