How to Get to Lanquín
Overland from Cobán (approx. 2-3 hours by shuttle or chicken bus) or by hosted transfer from Antigua (overnight travel common). Local “pick-up trucks” and shuttle vans (combis) run between Cobán and Lanquín; final approach to Semuc Champey is on unpaved roads - 45-60 minutes from Lanquín.

- Arrange transport to Semuc Champey through local agencies in Lanquín - the dirt-road transfer is rough and unpaved for the last stretch.
- Visit the Cueva de Lanquín early in the morning to observe thousands of bats leaving at dusk and to avoid the midday heat inside the cave.
- Bring a headlamp and water if exploring deeper cave passages with a licensed guide.
