How to Get to Lampa
Lampa lies on the northern edge of Greater Santiago and is best accessed via Santiago's international airport (SCL) or by road from the city. There is no direct metro service, so a bus or taxi from northern Santiago is typically required for the last mile.
Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, Santiago (SCL): The primary airport for the Santiago Metro region. From SCL you can either take a taxi or pre-booked transfer to Lampa (travel time roughly 40-60 minutes depending on traffic) or take a bus into central Santiago and then a local bus/taxi to Lampa. Taxi transfers from SCL to Lampa typically cost around CLP 25,000-40,000 depending on provider and traffic.
Santiago domestic flights: There are no closer international airports; domestic flights generally arrive to Santiago as the entry point for the metropolitan area.
Train / Metro: Lampa is outside the Santiago Metro network-there is no direct metro line into the municipality. The nearest metro and commuter rail connections are in northern Santiago; you will normally transfer from metro to interurban bus or taxi for the final leg.
Bus: Interurban buses and local colectivos connect Lampa with Santiago’s bus terminals and northern suburbs. Expect a road journey of about 40-60 minutes from central Santiago depending on traffic; buses depart from northern terminals and some metro stations during daytime hours.
How to Get Around Lampa #
Lampa’s town centre is walkable for short visits. Local buses and minibuses provide connections to Santiago and neighbouring towns, but many residents drive; taxis are available though less frequent than in the capital. If you plan to explore the surrounding rural areas, a car is the most convenient option. Carry some cash for rural buses and small shops.
