Lake Zell (Zeller See) is a freshwater lake adjacent to the town of Zell am See in Salzburg state, Austria, known as the town’s main natural attraction. It occupies the valley floor below the surrounding Alpine slopes and is a central feature of local tourism.

• For classic photos and a calm visit, stroll the lakeside promenade in the early morning or at sunset when cruise-boat traffic and day visitors are lighter.
• Take the Schmittenhöhe cable car from Zell am See town for an elevated panorama of the lake-this gives the clearest perspective of the lake's shape and surrounding peaks and is far less crowded first thing in the day.
• If arriving by car, use the town's central parking garages and then walk to the lakefront; lakeside parking fills quickly during summer and major events.
