How to Get to Lake Uljaste
By car: Lake Uljaste is reached from Jõhvi via local roads, approximately a 20-30 minute drive. There is roadside parking near the primary viewing points. Public transport: limited; the nearest town with regular buses is Jõhvi - plan for a taxi or a walk from the nearest stop.
Tips for Visiting Lake Uljaste
- Follow the marked trail around the lake to find the wooden bird hides - they are quick routes to the best views.
- Bring binoculars: migrant waterfowl appear in spring and autumn.
- Avoid muddy sections on the northwest path after heavy rain; rubber boots help.
