Lake Murati lies in Võrumaa, roughly 25-30 km southeast of the town of Võru. The most reliable route is by car via the Rõuge-Võru county roads; expect narrow paved and gravel sections-allow 40-60 minutes from Võru. There is no formal public transit to the immediate lake; the nearest bus stops are in small villages from which a 2-6 km walk or bicycle ride is required.
