Lake Langano is a freshwater lake in the Ethiopian Rift Valley region of central Ethiopia. It is known regionally as a recreational lake with shoreline resorts and beaches.
The lakeshore hosts resorts, lodges and picnic areas where people swim, boat and fish; the lake is notable in Ethiopia for being widely considered safe for bathing compared with some other Rift Valley lakes. Water-based recreation and informal birdwatching are common activities along the shore.
The lake formed within the tectonic Rift Valley system and has long been used by nearby communities for fishing and recreation. In recent decades tourist facilities have expanded along parts of the shoreline.
