Lake Kwania is a freshwater lake in Uganda at about 1.71583 N, 32.70056 E. It is one of the lakes within the Lake Kyoga basin in central-eastern Uganda.
The lake is used by local communities for fishing and other water-dependent livelihoods; access and facilities are primarily local. The lake is part of the broader Kyoga wetland and shallow-lake network.
Lake Kwania is a natural component of the Lake Kyoga system and has long been used for subsistence and commercial fisheries by nearby settlements.
Geographically the lake lies within the Lake Kyoga basin in central-eastern Uganda at the coordinates given above, surrounded by low-lying wetlands and agricultural land.

How to Get to Lake Kwania #
Approach by regional roads from Lira or other district centers; local taxis and boda-bodas (motorcycle taxis) provide the last-mile connections to lakeside villages. Boat hires are arranged locally.
