KV13 is a tomb located in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor and is part of the New Kingdom burial complex on the west bank of the Nile. It is one of the numbered tombs in the valley that has been documented by Egyptologists.
Archaeological work in the Valley of the Kings has recorded KV13’s layout and finds; many of the valley’s tombs show phases of reuse and modification. Access and condition of individual tombs vary according to conservation measures.
KV13 was constructed during the New Kingdom period and has been subject to investigation during 19th- and 20th-century archaeological campaigns. It lies among other royal and private tombs within the archaeological landscape of the valley.
The tomb is situated in the Valley of the Kings on the west bank of Luxor in Upper Egypt.
How to Get to KV13 #
Same approach as other Valley tombs: reach Luxor’s West Bank by taxi or ferry, then continue by local taxi or guided minivan to the Valley of the Kings entrance; the tombs are accessed from the main Valley compound.

- KV13 is irregularly opened - confirm with a licensed guide or the ticket office.
- Bring sturdy shoes - floors can be uneven and rocky inside the tomb chambers.
- Combine a visit with other nearby tombs if the ticket includes multiple entries to the Valley of the Kings on the same day.
