Kurjenrahka National Park is a protected area in Southwest Finland that conserves large tracts of bog, swamp and boreal forest. The park is valued for its intact peatland ecosystems and associated wildlife.

Visitors use a network of boardwalks and marked trails to explore mires, open bogs and adjacent forest, with hides and openings for birdwatching and observing wetland flora. Trail surfaces vary from wooden boardwalks across peat to forest paths.

The area was designated for protection to safeguard representative peatland habitats and species and to maintain traditional land-use features where present. Management emphasizes preserving hydrology and peatland integrity.

The park lies inland in Southwest Finland amid a landscape of mixed forests and agricultural land, accessible by local roads from the surrounding towns and municipalities.

• Wetland habitats: Extensive bogs, mires and forested wetlands make it a good site for birdwatching and nature study on marked boardwalks and trails.

Kurjenrahka National Park lies north of Turku, roughly 30-35 km from Turku city centre (about a 30-40 minute drive). The park is best reached by car via regional roads; there are parking areas at the main trailheads. Public transport is limited - check regional bus services for stops near the park and expect a short walk from any rural bus stop to the trailheads.

• Go at dawn or dusk for the best birdwatching and to avoid peak visitor times; many of the park's highlights are wetland boardwalks where wildlife is most active early and late in the day.
• Use the marked trailheads and official car parks rather than improvising access from small laneways - the park has sensitive bogs and established routes with boardwalks to protect the habitat and make routes clear.
• Bring binoculars and spend time at the observation towers and hides: many visitors walk the main trails and miss the quieter birding spots deeper into the reserve.
