Kuala Lumpur has a mature coworking market led by strong Malaysian brands, with spaces in office towers across the city and good prices by international standards. The spaces below are ones we have checked are open, with prices as published or recently reported. Many plans and promotions change month to month, so confirm before you buy.
How to Choose a Space#
- Stay on your train line. A space one or two stops from home, or along a covered walkway, will get used.
- Take day passes first. Try two or three spaces before buying a month.
- Check the hours. Many spaces staff the desk on weekdays only, and some day passes run only 9 to 5:30. WORQ and some Common Ground plans include 24/7 member access.
- Use your condo. Many towers have a residents’ work lounge, which covers a lot of days.
- DE Rantau holders should ask about special rates at MDEC’s partner hubs.
Quick picks: for community, Common Ground; for design and quiet, Colony KLCC; for month-to-month plans, WORQ; for value near Bangsar, Komune.

Cafe Etiquette in Kuala Lumpur#
- Order regularly. A drink every couple of hours, or lunch, is the fair rate.
- Don’t take a big table alone at lunch or weekends.
- Use headphones for calls.
- Dress modestly in some heritage areas and near mosques.
Working US or European Hours from Kuala Lumpur#
KL is UTC+8 with no daylight saving. London is 7 hours behind in summer and 8 in winter, so a European working day fits the KL afternoon and evening. New York is 12 hours behind in summer and 13 in winter, so US meetings fall between 9 pm and 3 am.
For late nights, a condo with a quiet desk, good air-conditioning and fast fibre matters most. 24-hour mamak restaurants mean you are never short of food at 2 am.
