Sultan Ismail Petra (KBR): Located at Kota Bharu, the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport is the nearest commercial airport serving Kuala Krai. From KBR you can take an express bus or shared minivan from Kota Bharu bus terminal to Kuala Krai (typical journey 1.5-2 hours). A metered taxi from the airport to Kuala Krai is faster (about 1.5 hours) but more expensive.

Sultan Abdul Halim / Other airports: There are no major airports in Kuala Krai itself; travelers from farther afield sometimes fly into Kuala Lumpur International (KUL) and take an internal flight to Kota Bharu before connecting onward by road or rail.

By Train & Bus

Train: Kuala Krai has a station on Malaysia’s KTM East Coast Line (Kuala Krai Railway Station). Trains on the East Coast Line connect to Tumpat and further west; services can be infrequent and relatively slow but are useful if you prefer rail (check KTM for schedules and fares).

Bus: Regular express and local buses run from Kota Bharu and other Kelantan towns to Kuala Krai; minibuses (van services) provide more frequent trips. Buses are the main economical option for reaching the town from the regional hub of Kota Bharu.

How to Get Around Kuala Krai (town) #
